Learn about the natural history of the El Paso region, including prominent geological features such as Mt. Cristo Rey and the Franklin Mountains. El Paso is one of the best places in the world to learn introductory geology, and has world famous rocks! This class provides hands-on experiences with rocks and fossils collected from all over the region. Your instructor is a dinosaur tracker, geoscience educator and advocate for El Paso regional geology.

Eric Kappus
Dr. Eric Kappus is a Biology/Geology Professor at Southwest University at El Paso. He is also a Research Associate Professor at the University of Texas at El Paso, a research Paleontologist for the New Mexico Museum of Natural History and Science, and president of the 501 (c)(3) Celebration of our Mountains.
